Your survivor grows by taking risks: killing infected, scavenging, and staying on the move. Every day that passes makes the infected tougher, forcing you to adapt or die. Damage multipliers increase as you level, but the infected grow more resilient with time. There's no safety in standing still; it will only get you overwhelmed. Nightmare Mode - Features a Hardcore difficulty setting, with permanent death and a much harsher progression meant for skilled survivors.
